I had a busy day today. I picked up my bike and trailer at Bikes & Beyond. Thanks Jerry, Jeremy and Scott! I gathered the final provisions for the trip and did some bicycle site seeing in Astoria and Fort Stevens State Park. Lunch was freaking awesome, a crab melt, yum! I actually rode 32 miles today and it doesn’t count, damn! I took some pictures. There are pictures of a large ship on the Columbia River, the American Empress paddle boat (its not really old 2002), the Pilot Peacock built in 1967, the Astoria Marina, and the Astoria-Megler bridge (4 miles long). So the custom on the TransAmerica is to put the rear wheel in one ocean and the front wheel in the other. In my case since I am riding east I dipped the rear in the Pacific Ocean. As you can see next to an abandoned shipwreck. It is the wreck of the Peter Iredale beached in 1906. Big day tomorrow!
